Retiree Workforce Brunch a success!
Though winter decided to have one last hurrah this past Monday, showering the valley with another fresh coat of snow and slick roads, 50+ retirees didn’t let a little snow deter them from attending the Retiree Workforce Brunch at FVCC. The Retiree Workforce Group (My Glacier Village, Job Service Kalispell, Kalispell Chamber, FVCC) hosted everyone for a light brunch and coffee with plenty of great conversations and presentations by local employers who’ve rolled out the welcome mat to hire retirees/seniors who are looking to return to work. We heard presentations from employers including Glacier Bank, Xanterra, Columbia Falls School District, Immanuel Living, LC Staffing, City of Kalispell Parks & Rec, and Montana Ace. Job Service Kalispell also shared information about their employment services and FVCC shared not only their senior institute and other class opportunities, but also employment opportunities at the college as well (such as being an adjunct instructor). Employers felt that they made great connections with future potential employees and retirees shared overwhelmingly positive feedback about the event. A couple of comments from event attendees:
“The prospect of having purpose and helping/interacting again gives me joy and hope for this stage of my life. :)”
“Thank you for bringing this program.”
“You kept things on time, short & sweet. Thank you!”
“Learned a lot about different companies.”
Stay tuned for future Retiree Workforce events!
